Sound… speeding!
All We Are Is In The Wind is a student-led short film project that follows a burnt-out filmmaker and her fresh-eyed sound intern on a search for a lost sound in their film, only to reignite their creative passion in each other’s unexpected camaraderie.
As part of the team’s fundraising efforts, we worked on a sticker sheet to be sold at the film’s premiere screening at The Projector. Designed with key motifs and quotes featured in the film, the stickers feature vibrant colours and minimalist illustrations that mirror the whimsical journey of the two protagonists as they search for their sound.
The Process
Upon my first watch, I know that the sticker sheet had to be playful, fun and even uplifting, all in tune with the overall message and vibe of the film.
I picked out key quotes and elements featured in the film — "You're just a BABY!", or the poo covering the toilets as they painstakingly attempted to record from inside.
I then experimented with colour schemes and art styles, and consulted the team on their preferences. We settled on a vibrant, almost-pastel palette that mirrored the soft, dreamy colours in the film, and with 2D vector illustrations to give it a more childlike, whimsical feel.
